Walter Strunk

Walter Ellis Strunk, 71 passed away at home on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. He was born October 29, 1953, the son of Walter "Jack" Lewis Strunk and Gladys May Strunk.

Walter retired from being a pipe fitter after over 40 years of service to UA local 502. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, family game playing Rook or getting to swim in the pool. He had been in AA for 18 years, where he developed lifelong friendships.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his granddaughter, Gabriella, two brothers: Ronald and Marcus Strunk, one sister, Sue Sommerfield.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Wright Strunk, Children: Tracy (Tim), Keith, Bridgette (Atticus), Josh (Christina), and David, grandchildren: Shay (Lindsey), Dillon (Sidney), Emily (Peter), Drew (Madison), Madison, Samantha, Laken, Hunter, great grandchildren: Landen, Kaleb, Sophie, and Miles, as well as several nieces, nephews and a host of extended family.

Funeral Service will be at 11 AM on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Gehlbach and Royse Funeral Home (7420 Highway 64, Georgetown, Indiana 47122).

Visitation will be on Monday, October 13, 2025, from 2 PM until 8 PM and again the morning of the funeral from 9 AM until service time.

Burial will be in Edwardsville Cemetery.

Walter really loved his motorcycle therefore family and friends are encouraged to wear Harley Davidson shirts and blue jeans to visitation and the funeral service.
