Virgil T. Jawtak Obituary (1933 - 2018)

Lanesville, Indiana Virgil T. Jawtak, 84, passed away Monday, February 5, 2018 at his home. He was born June 5, 1933 in Lanesville the son of Broneslaw and Lula Williams Jawtak. He was a farmer and a construction worker for Bowen Engineers of Indianapolis. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Lanesville, Indiana Farm Bureau, the Lanesville Heritage Committee, Local #795 Carpenter's Union, Indiana State Police Alliance and Indiana Sheriff's Association. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Mary Katherine Gleitz Jawtak. He is survived by two sisters, Lula Mae Hiser of Elizabeth, Indiana and Bernice Schickel of Lanesville. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be at 11 AM Saturday, February 10, 2018 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lanesville. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 PM to 8 PM Thursday, February 8, 2018, Friday from 12 PM to 8 PM and on Saturday from 9 AM to 10:30 AM at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, IN. The family suggests memorial gifts be made to the Virgil T. and Mary Jawtak Scholarship Fund at Indiana University or St. John's Lutheran Church.
