Thomas A. Wibbels, Jr. Obituary (1945 - 2016)

Corydon, Indiana Thomas A. Wibbels, Jr., 71, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Williams Medical Foster Home in Jeffersonville,IN. He was born January 2, 1945 in Louisville, Ky the son of Thomas A. and Mary A. Jones Wibbels. He was a retired pipefitter at Reynolds Aluminum in Louisville, a member of Pipefitters Local # 502, was a found member of Lanesville Jaycees, was a boy scout troop leader in Lanesville, and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lanesville, IN. He was a U.S Navy veteran and a member of the VFW Post #2950 in Corydon and Amercan Legion Hornickel Post in Elizabeth, IN. and was a Kentucky Colonel. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Judy Hess Wibbels and a son Eric Wibbels. He is survived by his son, Thomas A. Wibbels, III (Beverly) of Corydon, IN. and a grandson Christopher Sheehan and beloved 'Papa Banks' to Madison Borden. A funeral mass will be held at 11 AM Thursday, October 20, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lanesville, IN. Father Robert St. Martin will be the celebrant. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 PM to 8 PM Wednesday, October 19, 2016 and from 9 AM to 10 AM on Thursday at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon. There will be a rosary service at 7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial gifts be made to WHAS Crusade for Children.
