Steven L. Archibald, 68, passed away January 6, 2017 at Baptist Health- Floyd in New Albany, Indiana. He was born June 4, 1948 in Alton, Indiana the son of Charles Marion and Olive Kathleen Atwood Archibald. He was a retired electronics engineer for Waupaca Foundry in Tell City, IN, he worked in the Willamette paper mill in Hawesville, KY and was a Navy veteran. He was a devoted family man, enjoyed fishing, computers, and loved to have a good laugh with his family. He was an avid gardener and loved Florida and deep sea fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son Joseph Wallace Archibald and sister, Shirley Pease. He is survived by his wife Sandra Hester-Jacobs Archibald, daughter; Amanda Kaelin (Kenton) of Elizabeth, five brothers, LeRoy Archibald (Judy) of Tennessee, Johnnie Archibald (Vickie) of Georgetown, IN, Michael (Debbie), James (Cindy), and Joseph (Kelly) Archibald all of Elizabeth, four sisters; Jane Pendleton (Frank) of Elizabeth, JoAnn Skaggs (James) of Lanesville, Donna Skaggs (Fred) of Ramsey and Rebecca Hamilton (Rick) of Kenton, OH; two grandchildren, Tyrin Archibald and Katie Kaelin; sister-in-law, Susie Reed of Marion, NC and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 11 AM Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, Indiana. Rev. Frank Pendleton and LeRoy Archibald will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth, Indiana. There will be military rites at the grave. Visitation will be from 2 PM to 8 PM Wednesday, January 11, 2017 and 9 AM to 11 AM Thursday. The family suggests memorial gifts be made to the Lanesville Mt. Zion Building Fund at 2819 Hwy 11 Lanesville, IN 47136 or to Hornickel Post of Elizabeth, Indiana.
