Roberta "Birdie" E Sheedy Obituary (1940 - 2021)

Roberta Elaine "Birdie" Sheedy, 80, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Skyland Care Center in Sylva, NC. She was born November 2, 1940 in Elwood, IN the daughter of Robert J. and Eva M. Turner Dickey. She was formerly of Georgetown. Roberta was a homemaker, had worked in a canning factory in Point Isabel, IN, at Grants in Elwood, IN, sold beautiful plants and cared for veterans in her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Larry A. Sheedy, sister, Becky Dickey and her brother, Donald Dickey. She is survived by her son, Rodney A. Sheedy (Julie) of Converse, IN; daughter, Trina Payton (Rob) of Glenville, NC and Brenda Johnson (Mark) of Bloomington, IN; sisters, Jeanetta Sheedy of Big Sandy, Texas and Marlene Clymer (Larry) of Ellijay, GA; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Due to COVID-19 a virtual funeral service will be held at www.robertasheedy.com at 2 PM Sunday, January 17, 2021. Burial will follow at Edwardsville Cemetery in Edwardsville, IN. The family suggests memorial gifts be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Roberta's name. Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown are entrusted with local arrangements.
