Phyllis J Himmelhaver Obituary (1928

Lanesville, IN Phyllis J. Himmelhaver, 87, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015 in New Albany, Indiana. She was born March 6, 1928, in New Middletown, Indiana to Henry C. and Leona G. Wolfe Vogt. She served as Vice-Chairman of the Harrison County Democratic Party for 10 years, a Manager with the Indiana State Employment Office and a member of the Lanesville United Methodist Church in Lanesville, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Louis J. Himmelhaver, one son, Ronald G. Himmelhaver, two brothers, Charles and Jacob Vogt and three sisters, Thelma Bachman, Mary Katherine Jordine, and Peggy Mattingly. She is survived by her son, Louis 'Chuck' Himmelhaver (Terri) of Lanesville, Indiana; three daughters, Sheila Kay Bailey of New Albany, Janice Carrol (Hollis) of Floyds Knobs and Joyce Acton (Jim) of Lanesville; a daughter-in-law, Beverly Himmelhaver of MacClenney, Florida; 11 Grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held, Tuesday, May 12, at the Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, Indiana at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be Monday, May 11, from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Tuesday morning from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Lanesville, Indiana The family would like to offer a special thank you to Linda & Danny Clark for their dedicated and loving care of our mother. The family suggest memorial donations be made to Alzheimer's Association and or the American Cancer Society.
