Martha Lee Robins Wagner Van Pelt Obituary (1927 - 2019)

Georgetown, IN Martha Lee Robins Wagner Van Pelt, 91, peacefully passed on Saturday, April 27, 2019 in Cold Springs, KY. She was born June 26, 1927 in Clarksville, IN the daughter of Charles and Mary Belle Wiley Robins. Martha was a graduate of IUS with a Masters in Education and taught at Southwestern Elementary School in Hanover, IN. She was a life-long learner and a woman of varied interests. Mrs. Van Pelt loved music and was a potter, writer, and award- winning artist. Martha was a member of First Baptist Church in New Albany, IN where she taught Sunday School. She was very proud of her family and encouraged them to succeed in every endeavor. She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands William A. Wagner and Otho Van Pelt; sister Mary Marcella White and brother Thomas Robins. She is survived by three daughters, Cindy Smith (Finace) of Georgetown, IN, MM Wagner Jamison (Tim) of Alexandria, KY and Willa Beth Wagner of Evansville, IN; Grandchildren, Andrew Smith of Nashville, TN, Barrett Smith (Emily) of Louisville, KY, Lance Angle (Christina) of Cincinnati, OH, Amelia Burkhardt of Alexandria, KY, Simon Burkhardt of Berlin, Germany, Will Goebel of Evansville, IN and Lillian Conway (Cameron) of New Albany, IN; great grandchildren, Samuel and Benjamin Angle, Layla and Elladie Traft and Owen Planck, Leo & Zora Smith; sister Joyce Procter of Madison, IN., nephews Tim Specht and Joe (Sharon)White; and numerous nephews. The Funeral Ceremony will be Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at 2 PM at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown, IN. Dr. Jim Ivey will officiate. Burial will follow in Edwardsville Cemetery, Edwardsville, IN. Visitation will take place Wednesday from 11 AM until the funeral ceremony at 2 PM.
