Lucille S. Layer Obituary (1921 - 2014)

Elizabeth, Indiana Lucille S Layer, 93, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2014 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany. She was born July 15, 1921, to Roy E. and Beatrice McKinney Stewart in Elizabeth, Indiana. She was a homemaker and a member of Depauw United Methodist Church in Elizabeth, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Thomas Layer, One brother Ronald Stewart, and two sisters Ruth Dorton and Geneva Weber. She is survived by three sons, James K. Layer (Evon) of Corydon, Ralph S. (Dawn) and Donald R. (Bonnie) Layer both of Elizabeth, Indiana, two daughters, Janice Eaton of Virginia Beach, Va and Deborah K. Layer of Jeffersonville, Indiana, two brothers, Eugene Stewart of Elizabeth, IN and David Stewart of Louisville, KY and two sisters, Dorothy Burnett of Powder Springs, GA and Carol Ann Hook of New Albany, IN, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Depauw United Methodist Church in Elizabeth, IN. Pastor Catherine Turcotte will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held 10 AM to 8 PM Monday, December 29, 2014 and from 9 AM to 1 PM on Tuesday at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, IN.
