Melinda Lolene Reichert Obituary (1920 - 2019)

Corydon, Indiana Lolene M. Reichert, 99, died on Friday, August 16. 2019. Born March 17, 1920, she lived most of her life in and around the small southern Illinois community of Cypress. She also lived in Anna, Illinois for over 10 years. She then relocated to Indianapolis and Corydon, Indiana for the last twenty years of her life to be near to family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, John, her brother Robert and her parents, losing her mother as a very young girl. She is survived by her daughter, Wilma (Phillip) Williams of Corydon, Indiana, and by her son, Gary Reichert of Johnston City, Illinois, her grandchildren Nancy (Kevin) Russel of Corydon, Parker Williams of Denver, Colorado and John Fletcher Reichert of Illinois. She also leaves behind great grandchildren, Kate, Abby, and Luke Russel all of Corydon, Indiana. Lolene was an employee of Anna State Hospital in Illinois for twenty years and had worked in Chicago at Philco Radio during WW ll. She, and her husband John, worked hard on their farm near Cypress. She enjoyed taking care of her family, gardening, being close to animals and doing all things necessary to make farm life work. She loved music, dancing and being around people. She was always a hard worker, showed a grateful heart, was friendly and found her faith to be her source of strength. She was a member of the Methodist Church for most of her life. A private service was held at Gehlbach and Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, Indiana on Sunday, August 18, 2019. Burial will be at Cypress Masonic Cemetery, Cypress, Illinois at a later date.
