Leroy J. Gerth

Mr. Leroy John Gerth, 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at his home with his wife by his side. He was born in Lanesville, IN on May 18, 1938, to Angela and John Gerth. He was a graduate of Our Lady of Providence High School. Leroy retired from United Catalyst Incorporated after more than 40 years. He was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where he continuously provided service to many. Leroy has now joined his parents and brother, Larry Joe Gerth. He is survived by his wife, Susan Heinze Gerth; daughter, Anita Gerth Skinner (Rick); son, Scott Gerth (Debbie); sister, Phyllis Gerth Combs; grandchildren, Kaitie Skinner (Phil), Ryan Skinner, Nicole Windell (Aaron), and great grandson, Owen. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, September 9 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lanesville, IN. The celebrant will be Father Juan Valdes. Visitation will be held Wednesday 12 - 8 PM at the Gehlbach & Royse Georgetown Funeral Home. A rosary will be held at 7:30 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial gift to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or St. Mary's Catholic Church.
