Jimmie J. Duncan Obituary (1925 - 2016)

Elizabeth, Indiana Jimmie J. Duncan, 91, passed away Monday, October 10, 2016 at Baptist Health- Floyd Hospital in New Albany, Indiana. He was born July 19, 1925 in New Albany, the son of Joseph and Maggie Hollis Duncan. He retired from Ford Motor Company after 37 years, was a 50 year member of Pisgah Masonic Lodge # 32, was a member of Lighthouse United Methodist Church in Elizabeth, and was an Army Air Corps veteran of WWII. He enjoyed golf, euchre, gardening and Indiana basketball. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, James Michael Duncan and four brothers, Elton, Orville, Mike and John Duncan. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Edna Mae Woertz Duncan; two daughters Karen Duncan Kinzer; Rebecca Duncan Pohlmann (J. Craig); his sister-in-law, Marilyn Duncan ; two grandchildren, Kara Brandt (Paul) and Krista Marcum (Michael); 4 great grandchildren, Christian and Andrew Brandt and Addison and Zachary Marcum and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1PM Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, Indiana. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth. There will be military rites at the grave. Visitation will be from 1 PM to 8 PM Friday, October 14, 2016 and 11 AM to 1 PM on Saturday.
