Corydon, Indiana Jessie E. Tomes, Sr., 73, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at his home in Corydon with family and friends surrounding him. He was born in Edmonson County, KY on November 18, 1939 the son of Dewey E. and Myrtle V. Sanders Tomes. He was a retired truck driver and a member of First Capitol Christian Church. He was a supply Pastor for Riddle United Methodist Church. He was also a member of Indiana Farm Bureau. He was preceded in death by his father Dewey E. Tomes, a daughter DeAndrea Lynn Tomes and a brother Billy Ray Tomes He is survived by His wife- Sallie Jo Tomes of Corydon, IN, his mother Myrtle Tomes of Georgetown, IN Three sons- Scott Tomes (Carrie), Jessie E. Tomes, Jr. (Becky) both of New Albany, IN Donald D. Stallings (Amy) of Jeffersonville, IN Three daughters- Linneau George (Joe) of Louisville, KY Rhonda Zink (Robin) of New Albany, IN Tammy Sales (Marshall) of Lake Hills, Texas Five brothers- Leroy Tomes (Nancy) of Lanesville, IN James Tomes (Phyllis) of Georgetown, IN Larry Tomes (Linda) of Louisville, KY Roger Tomes (Jan) of Indianapolis, IN Ronnie Tomes (Banita) of Clarksville, IN Five sisters- Judy Taylor (Charles) of Corydon, IN Glenna Toliver of Madison, IN Sherry Richmond (Ron) of Garland, TX Cathy Tomes and Laura Tomes both of Georgetown, IN Nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren Funeral services will be held at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, IN on Friday, May 10, 2013 at 11 AM. Burial will be in Wolfe cemetery in Georgetown, IN. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 PM to 8 PM and after 9 AM Friday. The family suggest in lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the family for burial expenses. Visitation: Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 2 PM - 8 PM and after 9 AM Friday at the Gehlbach and Royse Funeral Home in Corydon Funeral: Friday at 11 AM at the funeral home Interment: Wolfe cemetery
