Jerome "Jerry" E. Fessel Obituary (1931 - 2021)

New Salisbury, Jerome "Jerry" Fessel, 89, died at his home, Wednesday, August 4, 2021. He was born in New Salisbury, Indiana on December 18, 1931 to George Henry and Theresa Timperman Fessel. He was a life-long resident of Harrison County, a veteran of the U.S. Army working as an Army Engineer attaining the rank of Corporal. He was a Sales Representative for a Poultry Equipment Co. and a devoted member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Corydon, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Viola June Smith Fessel, brothers, Charles, Harold. Philip and William Fessel. Jerry is survived by his wife Cheryl Keeton Fessel of New Salisbury, sons, Allen Fessel, Rick McClure, both of Corydon, Neil McClure of Henryville, Daughters, Judith Reed (Gary) of Corydon and Deborah Moore of New Albany, nine grandchildren, Nicki (Todd) Hartlage, Derrick (Miracris) Arnold, Mackenzie (Kyle) Rosenberger, Nathan (Rhonda) Fessel, Lindsay (Rama) Adams, Kristina (Quentin) Combs, Dakota (Kristin) Fessel, Paul (Lacey) Reed, Holly (David) Haake, 17 great grandchildren, sisters, Mary Catherine Schueler, Margaret (Jerome) Smith and Carolyn Schueler. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday August 9 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Corydon, Indiana, presided by Father Kyle Rodden. Burial to follow at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Corydon, In. Visitation will be Sunday, August 8 from 2:00 until 8:00 PM and Monday morning from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM at the Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, Indiana. There will be a prayer service offered Sunday evening at 7:30 PM at the funeral home. The family requests memorial donations be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
