Georgetown, IN Gilderoy 'Roy' P. Richardson Jr., 91, passed away April 15, 2015 in New Albany, IN. He was born March 8, 1924 in Houlka, MS to Gilderoy and Lela M. Harris Richardson . He was a WWII Army Veteran serving with the Artillery, a farmer, a foreman for American Synthetic Rubber now known as 'Michelin' and a member of Wesley Chapel UMC Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 57 years, Joyce 'Peggy' Richardson, two brothers, Dwight and Ross Richardson and a sister Maxine Schafner. He is survived by his children: Brian Richardson (Sherry) of Georgetown, Dr. Thomas Richardson (Tammy) of North Salem, IN, Carla McComas (Mark) of Greenville, IN and Kathy Sue Watson of Evansville, IN; his grandchildren Randy Richardson, Karin Johnston, Joshua & Jacob Trotter, Heather Watson, Fiona & Jessica McComas; three great-grandchildren, John & Gwen Johnston and Morgan Richardson; his sister-in-law, Ruby Richardson of Tuscaloosa, AL. and his best friend, Claudia Deen. Funeral Services will be Saturday, April 18, 12 noon, at the Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown, IN Visitation will be Friday, April 17 beginning at 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Saturday morning beginning at 10:30 AM until time of the service. Burial will follow at Wolfe Cemetery in Georgetown, IN.
