Crandall, IN Fern E. Higdon, 93, passed away Friday, June 7, 2013 Bee Hive Homes Assisted Living Facility in Georgetown, IN. She was born Feb. 19, 1920 in Harrison Co. Indiana to John and Charlotte Scheler Roudenbush. She was a homemaker. She was a member of VFW Auxiliary in New Albany, IN. and Home Economics Club of Jackson Township. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Corydon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl C. Higdon, her sons, Ray and Larry Joe Higdon, her son-in-law, Russel Schneider, her sisters, Edith Carpenter, Relda Moore, Mildred Snider, Thelma Gentry, and her brothers, Glenn, Harlan, Forrest and Melvin Roudenbush. She is survived by 3 sons, Ronald C Higdon of Quincy, Florida, Michael W. Higdon (Tutti) of Corydon, IN and Richard D. Higdon (Lilian) of Georgetown, Indiana One daughter, Carol Schneider of New Albany, IN. Fourteen grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren Funeral Mass will be Monday, June 10, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church Visitation will be held at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, IN beginning Saturday, June 8, 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Sunday, 11:00 AM to 8 PM and after 9 on Monday. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Corydon, IN The family suggest Memorials be made to Zoar Cemetery Fund, or St. Joseph's Cemetery.
