Emmett Edward Reed Obituary (1936 - 2021)

Corydon, Indiana Emmett Edward Reed, 85, died December 1, 2021, at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He was born November 23, 1936, in Laconia, Indiana to Jesse Edward and Zelma Blake Reed. Emmett was a retired farmer and maintenance supervisor for Keller Manufacturing and served in the Army Reserves. He was a wonderful singer and sang in a quartet while in High School. He was an avid carpenter, electrician, plumber and jack of all trades; was a friend and help to everyone. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Phyllis Gleitz Reed, son, Leslie Reed, and son-in-law, David Brown. He is survived by his daughters: Krista (Buck) Crawhorn of Corydon, Indiana, Shelly Brown of Belle Rive, Illinois, Vicki Reed of Corydon; Grandchildren: Callie (Brian) Meunier of Huntingburg, Indiana, James Brown, Belle Rive, Illinois, Daniel (Rebecca) Crawhorn of Laconia, Indiana, and Danessa Crawhorn, Jeffersonville, Indiana; great-grandchildren: Kyle Meunier of Huntingburg, Indiana, Addison Bedar, Tucker Brown, both of Belle Rive, Illinois and Jay Springer of Laconia, Indiana. Funeral Service will be held at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Corydon, Indiana. Pastor Evangeline Rajkumar-Anderson will officiate. Visitation will be Friday, December 3, 2021, at the Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, Indiana beginning at 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM. There will be a short visitation at the Funeral Home on Saturday from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery following the service.
