Georgetown, Indiana Edward Dallas Ehalt, 87, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at his home in Georgetown. He was born on November 27, 1925 in Georgetown the son of Clarence and Beulah Baylor Ehalt. He was a retired rural mail carrier, a WWII Marine veteran, a life member of the United States Roping Association, a member of the Old Capitol Saddle Club, member of the USS New Mexico Association, a life member of Disabled Veterans, member of United State Seagoing Marines, American Legion Post 42 in New Albany, life member of VFW post 2950 in Corydon, Marine Corps League Indiana Detachment, life member of Georgetown Optimist Club, member of Christ United Methodist Church in Georgetown, Original Super Hick Tractor Driver to State Finals for the Floyd Central Basketball Team, was a past 4-H leader for Floyd County and was a volunteer for Southern Indiana Junior Rodeo and Indiana High School Rodeo. He is survived by His wife- Mary Jane Winsor Ehalt of Georgetown, IN One Son- Mark Ehalt of Clinton, IL Two Daughters- Jan Sams (Tim) of Las Vegas, NV Roseann Ehalt Baker of Georgetown, IN Seven Grandchildren Essten Ehalt, Casey Slabe (Joel), Colt Becht (Susan), Carson Cooper (Todsawon), Wade Becht, Maverick Becht (Brittany) and Quincy Cooper. Six Great Grandchildren- McKenzie, Yuri, Cash, Sage, Reese and Baby Becht. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Friday at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown. Burial will be in Wolfe Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home in Georgetown on Thursday from 1 PM to 8 PM and after 9 AM Friday.
