Davis Yocum Monroe Obituary (1926 - 2019)

Corydon, Indiana Davis Yocum Monroe, 92, passed away November 15, 2019 after a long battle of cancer at Harrison Springs Health Campus in Corydon, IN. He was born December 7, 1926 in Corydon, IN the son of Leonard G and Genie Wilson Monroe. He was a veteran of WWII and a lifetime member of the VFW. He was a businessman for over 60 years in Corydon. He was preceded in death by his parents; Four brothers, Gilbert, Tom, Howard and Charles Monroe, One Sister, Juanita Williams, and a grandson, Brent Monroe. He is survived by His Wife, Malitida (Tillie) Weis Monroe, One Son, Ronald Monroe (Vickie) of Floyds Knobs, IN, One Daughter, Kimberly Monroe of Floyds Knobs, IN, One Granddaughter - Brook Hopkins (Jeff) of Gulf Shores, AL, Two Step Grandchildren- Wade Rozack and Morgan Thompson; Two Great Grandchildren- Cooper and Calli Hopkins and One Step Great Grandchild - Aden Thompson. Per Davis' wishes, Cremation was chosen. There will be a private burial in St. Peters Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family would like to give a special thanks to Davis' caregiver, Carl Bussabarger.
