Clairetta E. Bickel Obituary (1931

Corydon, Indiana Clairetta E. Bickel, 83, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2015 at her home. She was born in Monmouth, Illinois on December 3, 1931 the daughter of Roscoe and Mary Wilson Blackman. She was a homemaker, she and her husband worked with 'Our Father Provides' or formerly know as the 'Clothes Closet' in Corydon. They made two trips to both Mexico and Jamaica to deliver needed clothing. They also sent clothing to Eastern Kentucky and traded extra clothing for food for this area at the 700 Club in Illinois. She was a member of Trinity Assembly of God Church in Corydon and was a loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by two sons, Carl Lynn Bickel and Jason Bickel; a sister, Peggy Jo Tidwell and a brother, Melvin Blackman. She is survived by Her husband-Eldon L. Bickel of Corydon, Indiana Four Sons-Carl Lewis Bickel of New Middletown, Indiana Eldon Leroy Bickel (Tammy) of Corydon, Indiana Bentley Charles Bickel of New Middeltown, Indiana Bradley Gene Bickel of Corydon, Indiana One Daughter- Kitty Sue Ellis ('H') of Georgetown, Indiana Two Brothers- Jim Blackman (Lucy) of Florida and John Blackman of Washington. Two sisters- Polly Weis (Kenneth) of New Middletown, Indiana Patricia Sue Reeves (Jerry) of Nevada Ten Grandchildren and Eleven Great Grandchildren Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 7, 2015 Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon. Pastors Mark Avery and David Ledger will officiate. Burial will be in Bethesda Cemetery in Elizabeth, Indiana Visitation will be held at the funeral home in Corydon from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 and from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Wednesday. The family suggests memorial gifts be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital either through the funeral home or Mailed to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105 or at www.stjude.org.
