Catheryn Lois Mathes Obituary (1917 - 2016)

Corydon, Indiana Catheryn Lois Mathes, 99, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Kindred Transition Care Harrison. She was born June 20, 1917 in Corydon, Indiana the daughter of John O. and Lulia Tindall Reas. She had worked as a seamstress at the old M. Fine Shirt Factory in New Albany, Indiana, was a lifelong member of Heidelburg United Methodist Church and a member of the Heidelburg quilters at the church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George F. Mathes, son-Donald Mathes, three daughters-Betty Ripperdan, Nancy Snyder, and Mary Lou Emily, two grandsons-Curtis Ripperdan and Carey Mathes. She is survived by Son- Larry W. Mathes (Betty) Of Corydon, Indiana. Nine Grandchildren- Michael Mathes (Denise), Michele Whitehouse, Melody Coleman (Lyle), Mark Mathes, Teresa Carrico (Gerard), Cynthia Coffman (Arlis), Heather Davis (Bob), Shane Snyder (Sarah), Kyle Emily (Andrea). Twelve great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Heidelberg United Methodist Church in Corydon. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 PM to 8 PM Tuesday, December 20, 2016 and 9 AM to 10:30 AM Wednesday at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, Indiana. The Family suggests memorial gifts go to the American Cancer Society. Pallbearers will be Michael, Mark and Tyler Mathes, Shane Snyder, Brad and Greg Reas. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kyle Emily, Heather Davis, Dennis and Joey Reas and Donald Mathes.
