Carroll Dean Lawton, Sr Obituary (1935 - 2021)

Corydon, Indiana Carroll Dean Lawton, Sr, 86, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021 at Indian Creek Convalescent Center in Corydon. He was born March 2, 1935 in Gideon, OK the son of Wilbur Austin and Ethel Crawford Lawton. He worked for Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. in Louisville from 1979 to 1986 and then retired as a night watchman at Norstam Veneer in Mauckport, IN where he worked from 1987 to 2004. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Carroll Dean Lawton, Jr.; daughter Lydia Lawton; brothers, Earl, Bob, Harold, Howard, Herb and Charles Lawton; sisters, Dorothy Getchel and Caroline Lawton and Elizabeth Koom and granddaughter, Christine Lawton Britton. He is survived by sons Mark Lawton of Georgetown, IN, Wilbur Gayle Lawton (Anna) and Austin Dale Lawton (Kim) both of Corydon, IN; daughter, Sheila Barber of Taylorsville, KY; sister, Laura Louise Kaufer of Mill Creek, WA. Funeral services will be at 10 AM Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, IN. Pastor Webster Oglesby will officiate. Burial will be in Jordan Cemetery. Nathan, Nick, Jeff, Jim and David Lawton and Andy Lyons. Honorary Pallbearers will be Norman and Micha Lawton. Visitation will be from 4 PM to 8 PM Wednesday, April 14, 2021 and on Thursday from 8 AM to 10 AM also at the funeral home in Corydon.
