Anita J. (Wheat) Mattingly Obituary (1958 - 2019)

Anita J. (Wheat) Mattingly, 60, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany, IN. Anita was born in Corydon, IN on April 14, 1958. She was a graduate of Corydon Central High School and received her EDDA from the University of Louisville. She worked at Kids Dentistree as the Clinical Director, EDDA. Anita was a loving wife, a caring and devoted mother and the best Nanny to her granddaughters. She loved everything she had and always strived to make everyone around her comfortable and happy. Her hobbies included cake and cookie decorating, spending time with family and ANYTHING involving her granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her Father, John Wheat and Mother, Ella (Franks) Wheat. Anita is survived by her husband of 42 years Christopher Mattingly; daughter Roxanne (Mattingly) Lenfert (Matthew); son Shawn Mattingly (Chris); Granddaughters, Meagan and Caroline; sister, Barbara Whitman (Carl). A memorial mass will be held at 4 PM Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Corydon, IN. Father Rob Hankee will be the celebrant. Visitation will be from 10 AM to 4 PM also on Wednesday at the Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, Indiana.
