Albert Zwahlen, Jr. Obituary (1928 - 2016)

Elizabeth, Indiana Albert Zwahlen, Jr., 88, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2016 at his home in Elizabeth. He was born on April 13, 1928 in Louisville, Ky. the son of Albert, Sr. and Minnie Carter Zwahlen. He was a tobacco machine operator for Brown-Williamson and was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of VFW Post # 3281 in New Albany and Knights of Columbus Council 1808 and a 4th Degree member of Assembly # 3289 and a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Elizabeth, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Ruby L. Zwahlen. He is survived by Three Sons- E. Patrick Zwahlen of Sorrento, Florida William Sims and John B. Zwahlen both of Elizabeth, Indiana Two Daughters- Charolette Trobaugh and Therese Bibb both of Elizabeth, Indiana Two Sisters- Dorothy Alberg of Largo, Florida and Carolyn Boody of Louisville, Kentucky. Nineteen Grandchildren and Eight Great Grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Elizabeth. Father Fred Dennison will be the celebrant. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held 2 PM to 8 PM Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, Indiana and 9 AM to 11 AM Wednesday at the church. There will be a Knights of Columbus services at 6 PM and a Rosary service at 7:30 PM both on Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Corydon. The family suggests memorial gifts be made to either St. Peter's Catholic Church Cemetery Fund or to American Diabetes Association.
