Virgil R. King Obituary (1940 - 2022)

Corydon, Indiana Virgil R. King, 82, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2022, at his home in Corydon. He was born June 9, 1940, in Evansville, IN the son of Roy E. and Venita Stewart King. He was store manager for 22 years at the old Berlin's Department Store in Corydon and retired from Falls City Lighting in Jeffersonville, IN as showroom manager. Virgil was an accomplished artist and was the artistic set manager for Hayswood Theater and for 2 seasons was in the starring role of the production, Dracula and participated in the Yellow Jackets Reenactment in Corydon. He also was very honored to be a tour guide for the First State Capitol Building in Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Alma King. He is survived by his wife Treggie Miller King; children, Brice King (Lisa), Deena King, Polly King (Phyllis), Travis King (Juanita), Erin Coomer (Ryan), Ashlee Kirchoff (Mike) and Ryan Conrad (John); brothers, Don King and Keith King (Patricia); sister, Tonya Stepro (Carl) and several grandchildren also survive. There will be a visitation from 5 PM to 7 PM on Thursday, September 15, 2022. There will be a private service at a later date. The family suggests memorial gifts be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
